Project Background
The objective of this project was to design headphones for a given brand that has a recognizable brand identity, while balancing constraints such as comfort and function.
The house of Chanel was built on ideals of simplistic elegance and revolutionized women’s fashion. Coco Chanel’s designs were so unique at the time and they became symbols of luxury and sophistication. Since Karl Lagerfeld took over as chief designer in 1983, there has been a visible effort to “build a better future by expanding on elements of the past” by “changing nothing and everything”.
Chanel brand values; elegance, luxury, quality, attention to detail, "less is more"

Final Clay Model
Final deliverable of this project was to create a symmetrical 3D model of our headphone design.
Our final design included many iconic Chanel design features such as quilted leather, detailed stitching, gold and black colouring, and simple shapes.
To further express Chanel's brand value of luxury we decided the ear covers on the headphone would include a beautiful piece of hand crafted resin. The resin would contain the icon colours and luxurious detailing.
